Health disparities workshops build bridges to better serve marginalized communities

Four non-profits partner with Fred Hutch’s Health Disparities Research Center to reduce cancer health disparities among minority and underserved communities. Serving as health advocates, the Somali Health Board, the Susan G. Komen Puget, the Urban Indian Health Institute, and El Centor de la Raza, have each been awarded grants. The grants serve to support the non-profit outreach to their respective communities, build partnerships, and understand the challenges that keep patients from seeking cancer screenings or preventative treatment.
